Liverpool Solicitors Armstrongs  discusses complaints against Solicitors.

Armstrongs has a specialised unit which  deals with professional negligence claims against Solicitors.  But what if you wish to complain about your solicitor?

If you have a complaint it is usually the case that you should:

1.        Complain in writing to your solicitor about any poor service received or their bill.

2.        If you do not obtain a satisfactory resolution to your complaint then a complaint can be made to the Legal Ombudsman.

3.        They will concern themselves with the following instances;

(i)        Not done what you instructed them to do;

(ii)       Involved in unreasonable delay;

(iii)      Given you inaccurate or incomplete information;

(iv)      Failed to reply to your phone calls and letters or keep you informed of what is going on;

(v)       Failed to give you enough information about what they will charge you before they begin your case or give you your final bill.

The Legal Ombudsman cannot deal with a claim in negligence against your solicitor.

It may be the case that you have a complaint as to poor service but also a claim in negligence against your Solicitor.
