Consumer Disputes

Credit Agreements

Many people find themselves entering into unfair credit agreements. The Armstrongs’ team will investigate the terms of your agreement closely and provide you with guidance as to the strength of your claims.

The Consumer Credit Act 1974 was introduced to protect the rights of lenders and borrowers who have a contract with each other.

Our areas of work include:

  • Writing off agreements;
  • Complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service;
  • Defending mortgage repossession claims;
  • Fighting bankruptcy and charging order hearings.

Insurance Disputes

If your insurance company has refused to pay out, often on a technicality, we can help.

We have experience of handling a range of insurance-related disputes. They include refusal to pay out after items have been stolen from a business or a fire has damaged a commercial premises. We have also seen cases of insurance companies not paying out following a subsidence claim and, increasingly, after serious flooding.
